First job Today is at Kenilworth Cleaning up a Hewlett Packard PC removing data and games and Setting up an email account. on this one as there was no data to keep we went straight to the emergency recovery partition and wiped the machine it was running very slow before the wipe after running like new and just needed the correct drivers for the added wireless adapter loading and a new email address for the new user.

Good Morning we are with a customer on Burberry Grove in Balsall Common, the customer has reported that the browser has been hijacked. We found and removed a rootkit virus, Trojan viruses and other Malware, We then ran a malware scan to make sure all clear.

We are now with a customer on Webster Avenue in Kenilworth, We are here to repair several computer problems.

The desktop computer here has Trojan viruses and malware which we removed and then updated the antivirus software.

We reset the Router to include Wireless security.

The Philips Laptop has wireless issues and a fan that is not working, We stripped the laptop, Cleaned the fan and then reassembled this solved the fan issue, Removed and reinstalled the wireless driver which gave us working wireless .

This morning we are with a customer on Needlers End Lane in Ballsall Common to install a backup system for an external USB harddrive for this we are using a Sync Program from microsoft , The reason for using this is that it is pretty easy to use and Quick because it only copies the files that have been changed.

Update to get the WD USB external hard drive to work here we had to also install a USB 2.0 PCI Card, It seems the ones supplied on board could not supply enough power for the drive.

Computer Running Slow at Balsall Common

This afternoon we are with a customer on Kemps Green Road in Ballsall common to repair a computer that is running slow.

The computer is running Windows XP , after going through all the usual checks registry, Virus check and Malware check, we found that the cause was that there was more than one antivirus on the computer and they conflicted with each other.

Good afternoon, We are with a customer on Station Road at Balsall Common in Warwickshire, We are here because the customer has reported that his computer needs repairing the fault described is that the computer is powering up but has flashing on the screen.

Update after some investigation it was found that the computers power supply was not functioning correctly so we replaced the unit and tested, We also updated the customer antivirus and firewall programs to the latest versions.

Virgin / NTL Wireless Access Point Setup in Kenilworth

For our Last job this afternoon we are at a customers on Henry Street in Kenilworth, We are here to setup an access point system with a cable modem and a router.

Update : We managed to get it to work in the attic with a laptop and on a playstation 3 on the first floor all coming from one access point on the ground floor.

For the next job today we are at Riddings Hill at Ballsall Common in Warwickshire to maintain a Laptop computer for a customer. The main thing we are here for is to check the Antivirus on the PC and the computer is reported to be running slow.
Update: The main thing effecting the speed of this Dell Studio laptop was the webcontrol software supplied was hogging resources so we removed this and other programs by editing the registry.
