Good morning this morning we are in Warwick trouble shooting a wireless router installation, it seems one computer out of the devices here is not finding the wireless Router and we need to establish why.

Update Turns out the wireless router installed was set to auto and had choose channel 13 and for some reason the wireless card was set to US so was only able to see up to channel 11, reset to UK and all seems well plus removed a search bar from the computer.

Blank Screen on Dell Dimension PC

We have a Dell dimension PC to repair with no screen output after removing the video and memory boards and giving them a clean we have a working machine again.

2nd job of the day is in the working units at The Mill on Mill Lane, Little Shrewley near Hatton here we have a HP Laserjet wireless Laserjet to install and make work correctly over the wireless network with an Apple Macbook Pro also to add to the fun it is using Sage accountant inside Parallels with Windows XP running virtually. this was all setup and tested much to the customers relief she had been using as left by another computer person with it connected via usb leads which i have to add looked dangerous.

Computer dead no power

This morning i have a computer in Warwick with no power getting to the machine. After checking the fuses (by the way its almost never the fuses or the power switch) and the mains , We put a new power supply unit in to the machine and tested it , This was all that was needed on this machine but a simular set of faults are apparent when the motherboard, processor or memory simm boards have a fault.

Dead Computer in Warwick Gates

Good Morning, Today we are starting on a Desktop PC at Warwickgates. This PC was dead with no power so first of all we tried a new Power Supply Unit which resulted in no change so at this point we changed tactic and removed the video card and memory boards gave them a clean and retested still the same no power, next was to reseat the processor this fixed the machine and it was able to run. (if it had not worked it could have been a faulty memory stick processor or even the mother board and because of the age would probably have been uneconomic to repair).

Although the machine was now working this was not the end as it seemed some one had been playing on less reputable sites and had filled the machine with malware so much so that the machine ran like an old 286( the PC was running extremely slow), so we cleaned up the machine and got it running much better.

Wireless Trouble in Warwick

In warwick today my only job is to reset the settings on a Belkin Router, then make a desktop PC work with it the first problem is its running Windows XP and its existing Wireless Card does not cope with WPA security, so we disabled the original Wireless Card and added a new Wireless USB adaptor that supports XP. all tested and working with all devices.

Hello this morning we are with a customer in Warwick not to far from the hospital, We are here to repair the customers computer, the computer needed a new DVD writer to replace a faulty CDRW drive, and for some reason the printer needed reinstalling.
